Description
Due to the current situation, we are now offering our SIA Security Guard course in the comfort of your own home. Although due to recent SIA regulation changes you will be required to complete a practical assessment in a classroom
PLEASE NOTE THAT AS THE 1ST APRIL 2021 YOU WILL NEED A FIRST AID QUALIFICATION TO ATTEND THE TRAINING. PLEASE CONTACT US FOR COURSE DATES PIROR TO BOOK YOUR COURSE
You will need to have access to a laptop/computer/tablet/smartphone.
You will be able to interact with the other learners in your group as well as your tutor, as you would do so in a classroom.
Security Guard Training
In order to obtain an SIA licence, you will need to show that you are trained to the right level. This applies to front line staff only.
To get one of the qualifications linked to Security Guard licensing you will need to attend and take three training modules and pass three exams.

Security Guarding Specialist Module
- Session 1: Introduction to the Roles and Responsibilities of Security Officers

- Session 6: The Security Officer and The Law
- Session 7: Communicating, Reporting and Record-Keeping
Conflict Management Module
- Session 1: Avoiding Conflict and Reducing Personal Risk

Assessment
Working within the Private Security Industry
This unit will be assessed by an externally set and marked multiple choice question paper consisting of 72 questions. The examination will last for 110 minutes, and learners will be required to correctly answer 51 of the 72 questions to achieve 70% pass mark.
Working as a Security officer/ Guard within the Private Security Industry
Assessment of this unit will be by an externally set and marked multiple choice question paper containing 60 questions. The examination will last for 90 minutes, and learners will be required to correctly answer 42 of the 60 questions to achieve 70% pass mark.
Conflict Management within the Private Security Industry
This unit will be assessed by an externally set and marked multiple choice question paper containing a minimum of 20 questions. The examination will last for 30 minutes, and learners will be required to correctly answer 14 of the 20 questions to achieve 70% pass mark. internally marked and externally verified knowledge assessment.
The practical assessment will be externally quality assured. Learners will be assessed performing each of the techniques taught. The tutor will only pass you when all of the techniques have been demonstrated satisfactorily. All of the assessment criteria must be passed. 100% pass mark.
