Description

Under the Private Security Industry Authority Act 2001, all individuals wishing to work in the private security industry must undertake a recognised qualification before applying for a licence.

The HABC Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry (QCF) has been developed to meet the requirements of the Security Industry Authority (SIA). It is based on the relevant SIA Specifications for Learning and Qualifications and provides the necessary skills and knowledge for learners who wish to app

Due to the current situation, we are now offering our SIA Door Supervisor course.  part virtual and part in the classroom.

The first 3 days will be delivered to you in the comfort of your own home and the final 2 days will be in the classroom 

What is Virtual/Live Learning? Your course will be delivered over the internet real-time and face-to-face with the trainer. You will be able to participate in lessons, ask questions, talk to other participants etc as you would have done in a physical in-class course. The quality of the lessons and training will not be any different from what you would have experienced in-class.

Setting up your space for virtual learning:

When attending an online class, you should work in a physical space that will allow you to focus on the class and participate without distracting your classmates and instructor(s).

- Work in a quiet room, with minimal background noise and distractions.

- Have with you, a pen and some paper to take notes.

 

Assessment

Working within the Private Security Industry
This unit will be assessed by an externally set and marked multiple choice question paper consisting of 40 questions. The examination will last for 60 minutes and learners will be required to correctly answer 28 of the 40 questions in order to pass. 70% pass mark.

Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry
Assessment of this unit will be by an externally set and marked multiple choice question paper containing 45 questions. The examination will last for 75 minutes and learners will be required to correctly answer 32 of the 45 questions in order to pass. 70% pass mark.

Conflict Management within the Private Security Industry
This unit will be assessed by an externally set and marked multiple choice question paper containing a minimum of 20 questions. The examination will last for 30 minutes and learners will be required to correctly answer 14 of the 20 questions to pass. 70% pass mark.

Physical Intervention Skills within the Private Security Industry
This unit will be assessed by an externally set and internally marked practical assessment and an externally set internally marked and externally verified knowledge assessment. The practical assessment will be externally quality assured. Learners will be assessed performing each of the techniques taught. The tutor will only pass you when all of the techniques have been demonstrated satisfactorily. All of the assessment criteria must be passed. 100% pass mark.

You will require a pass in each unit to be awarded the Level 2 qualification.
