Description

This award has been developed to meet the training and licensing requirements of the SIA. The qualification is awarded on successful completion of three units: Working in the Private Security Industry, Working as a CCTV Operator and Practical Operation of CCTV Equipment.

The qualification comprises 3 mandatory units:

· Unit 1: Working within the Private Security Industry
· Unit 2: Working as a CCTV Operator within the Private Security Industry
· Unit 3: Practical Operation of CCTV Equipment within the Private Security Industry


ASSESSMENT:

Working within the Private Security Industry:


This unit will be assessed by an externally set and marked multiple choice question paper consisting of 72 questions. The examination will last for 110 minutes and learners will be required to gain 70% pass mark.

Working as a CCTV Operator within the Private Security Industry:


This unit will be assessed by an externally set and marked multiple choice question paper consisting of 40 questions. The examination will last for 60 minutes and learners will be required to gain 70% pass mark.

Practical use of a CCTV System:


This unit will be assessed by an externally set and internally marked practical assessment; 100% pass mark.

Skills Development Scotland - ITA Courses

Skills Development Scotland (SDS) Individual Training Accounts (ITAs) are for people who are 16 or over, living in Scotland and either in low paid work or actively seeking work. You must have an income of £22,000 a year or less, or be on certain benefits to be eligible to get up to £200 towards the costs of learning or training. You can apply for an ITA if you are not undertaking any secondary, further or higher education, SDS funded training or participating on the Community Jobs Scotland programme. ITAs are available if you are interested in learning something new or developing an existing skill to support you in work. There is a wide range of courses to choose from and you can study with any ITA approved learning provider, including learning centres, local colleges, universities and private training providers.
